Deploy Sprint

Competition Guidelines

Effective for the Deploy Sprint 2026 program cycle

These Competition Guidelines govern participation in Deploy Sprint, organized by Knurdz and the Leo Club of the University of Moratuwa. By registering a team, the team leader confirms that every member has read, understood, and agreed to comply with this document.

Purpose and scope

Deploy Sprint is an educational DevOps competition for University of Moratuwa undergraduates. These guidelines exist to protect participants, organizers, partners, and university stakeholders while maintaining a fair and professional event environment.

All registered team members, including the team leader and every listed member, are equally responsible for conduct before, during, and after official program activities.

Eligibility and registration

Teams must meet published eligibility requirements, including valid University of Moratuwa affiliation and accurate registration details. Submitting false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in disqualification.

Each participant may register with only one team unless organizers provide written approval otherwise.

Conduct and mutual respect

Participants must treat fellow competitors, volunteers, mentors, judges, sponsors, and organizers with respect at all times. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, bullying, or hostile behavior will not be tolerated.

Teams must compete in good faith. Interference with another team's work, sabotage, unauthorized access to systems, or any action intended to gain an unfair advantage is prohibited.

Participants are expected to follow venue rules, safety instructions, and reasonable directions from event staff.

Technical and event rules

Teams must comply with all published event rules, including deployment constraints, submission deadlines, bootcamp attendance requirements, and qualifier instructions. Ignorance of a rule is not a valid excuse for non-compliance.

Use of permitted tools and infrastructure must remain within the scope defined by organizers. Sharing credentials, bypassing restrictions, or misusing organizer-provided resources is forbidden.

Disciplinary action

Organizers reserve the right to investigate reported or observed violations. Depending on severity, responses may include warnings, score penalties, removal from a stage of the competition, disqualification of a team, or a ban from current and future Deploy Sprint activities.

Decisions regarding misconduct may be made by organizers in consultation with university stakeholders where appropriate. Disciplinary outcomes may include loss of participation privileges, prizes, or other event benefits tied to the program.

Organizer rights

Organizers may amend schedules, rules, or program formats when necessary for safety, fairness, or operational reasons. Material updates will be communicated through official channels.

Organizers reserve the right to refuse registration, revoke participation, or deny access to event properties if they reasonably believe a participant or team poses a risk to the event, to others, or to institutional policy.

Photography, recordings, and promotional use of event materials may be conducted by organizers and partners in line with announced communications practices.

Acknowledgment

Registration constitutes acknowledgment that these guidelines are binding. The team leader confirms they have authority to accept on behalf of all listed team members.

Questions about these guidelines may be directed to the organizers through official Deploy Sprint contact channels.
